Hope Through Truth Ministry

At Pleasant View Baptist Church, the Hope Through Truth ministry embodies our commitment to

serving the community through various outreach initiatives. Our mission is to provide hope, healing,

and support to individuals and families facing life's challenges. Through programs like

The Hope Academy, Bluegrass Challenge Academy, and weekly services in prisons and nursing

homes, we strive to share the love of Christ and foster transformation in the lives of those we serve. Each

ministry is designed to meet specific needs, providing support and spiritual guidance to those who need it most.

The Hope Academy

The Hope Academy is a place for troubled men who are ready to seek help and find true hope and healing. We are committed to investing in those who are willing to commit. Our family shares a deep burden to see men’s lives transformed by the Truth, and it is our desire to offer them hope and a future.

At The Hope Academy, we provide a faith-based instructional program designed for at-risk young men. Our foremost goal is to share the Gospel, followed by helping them develop a structured lifestyle, overcome personal struggles, and prepare for gainful employment. We teach financial responsibility, build character, and equip them to become assets to society.

Bluegrass Challenge Academy

Once a week, Pleasant View Baptist Church has the privilege of holding services and teaching classes to share the gospel with young men and women in a local residential youth education program. Many are searching for stability, hope, and answers to the challenges they face in life. Above all, they long for someone to show they care.

Each 22-week cycle provides us with the opportunity to connect with them through our services and classes. We offer practical skills such as building, hunting, electrical work, and cooking—providing not only hands-on learning

but also meaningful life lessons. Through these efforts, we remind them that they are not alone in their struggles. It is our prayer that the seeds planted through the truth of the Gospel will take root and grow, offering them purpose and hope

for their future.

Prison Church Services

Multiple times each week, we are blessed with the opportunity to minister in several detention centers to share the transformative message of the Gospel with the inmates. Through preaching the truth of God’s Word, we provide them with the only source of true hope—hope that can guide them out of the trouble and struggles they face, not necessarily with the court system but in their standing before the God of Heaven. This hope offers a path to true freedom, healing, and restoration that only God can provide.

Nursing Home Services

At Pleasant View Baptist Church, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to experience hope and connection, especially during their later years. Our dedicated volunteers conduct regular church services in several nursing homes, offering uplifting worship, prayer, and fellowship. We emphasize the importance of spiritual care, recognizing that it plays a vital role in enhancing the emotional and mental well-being of our residents. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, we aim to bring comfort and joy to those we serve, reminding them that they are cherished members of our family in Christ.

Tent Revival Ministry

Experience the joy of worship and fellowship at our open-air Tent Revival Meetings! These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity for community members to come together, share their faith, and enjoy uplifting music and inspiring messages. Whether you're a long-time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church or new to our community, we invite you to be part of this vibrant celebration of truth and the gospel. Bring your family and friends, and let’s grow in faith together under the open sky!

Hope Through Truth Director

Bro. Josh Calloway

Director of Hope Through Truth

Bro. Josh & Mrs. Angela Calloway carry a burden and give of themselves selflessly to the Hope Through Truth Ministry.  Within the Bluegrass Challenge Academy, they truly have a heart to reach young men and ladies with the gospel and show them the way to Calvary. God has used them in a mighty way within this ministry and we are so thankful for their dedication.

While addressing freedom from the bondage of addictions, HTTM also teach soft skills, budgeting and key aspects of obtaining and maintaining a job. The Hope Academy requires a year -long commitment by the resident and we also offer ongoing support for individuals based on their specific needs. With individualized housing and a program focused on finding hope in the midst of hopelessness, the Hope Academy offers these men the opportunity to rebuild their lives with purpose.
